Religion can be heavy. We aren't here to make it heavier.
There is a lot to carry these days.
You’ve got your past—high school, your upbringing, financial pressures, the "Monday morning" job you may or may not even like. You’ve got the weight of the world—international conflict, political friction, and the relentless "fear and loathing" cycle of the media.
Then there are relationships. Relationships can be complicated. The dating scene is crazy. It’s easy and fun... until it isn't.
In the middle of all that noise, where is God?
The Polarization Problem
If you ask the "religious," they often hand you a statement about Jesus dying for your sins, and demand you believe now—or else. They have answers, but do they actually care about your questions?
If you ask the "atheists," they often have a stack of intellectual arguments ready to fire. But do they care about your experience?
And in all this, who is God?
So many people either get stuck on the "Big Four": Homosexuality, Politics, Abortion, and Sex; or they want you to make a decision immediately. From all this it would be easy to think that God is just a war-mongering, finger-wagging supremacist who demands immediate acceptance. But even though those voices can be the loudest; they aren't God himself. There is so much more that you'll miss if those are the only voices you listen to.
So what's different here?

We are a collection of people with varying histories—
What unites us is that we have actually read the Bible, and we’re glad we did.
- For some of us, it gave us clarity on why we feel the way we do: we saw who the Bible says God is, and we walked away.
- For others, we found a radically different kind of love—in the person of God—an ancient rock to stand on that gives us the resilience and wisdom to handle the turbulence of modern life.
Just a Little Magic

We're not selling faith as a magic bullet.
Sometimes we wish there was magic in the world (wave a wand and make our troubles go away!), but the "unicorns and rainbows" version of faith that can be found with prosperity gospel pastors (you know the ones—"If you just believe, your life will be perfect!") can be damaging when people face real hardship. The Bible isn't an instruction manual that waves a magic wand over suffering and illness; it’s a challenging and surprising history of what it means to be human while facing God.
Our goal is simple, but it does take some work: We believe the smartest decision is an informed decision. Not knowing what the Bible actually says leaves people ill-equipped to make powerful decisions of faith. When people draw simplistic conclusions about a book they haven't actually explored, mistakes abound. We want to make accessibility clear and easy.
How this Project Works
We are currently building a comprehensive overview of the Bible, one piece at a time. We put straight Scripture on billboards—verses you probably won't hear in your day-to-day—and provide classic teachings on them here. We are about 1/6th of the way through this project. It’s a work in progress, much like us.
How to engage:
- Grab a Bible and browse: Use this site as a companion to the text.
- Check back often: We are constantly adding new content as we build this out.
- Stay tuned for the list: We’re launching an email list soon to deliver content in digestible bites.
- Deep dive: Along the way you'll find resources and affiliate links; your support helps us keep this project independent.
- Connect: We are working on secure ways to open up the conversation. Website security is a beast, but we're looking forward to hearing your "thinking out loud" thoughts.
Read it for yourself. Ponder. Ask the hard questions. See what sticks.
